Why Brooklyn Nine-Nine might be annoying:

Terrible things happen to characters (such a Jake being shot by his wife or going to jail after being falsely accused of robbing a bank) without any long-term effects.
Fox cancelled it after its fifth season without a proper finale.
Four ‘ready to go’ episodes were scrapped after the producers decided to change the direction of the eighth season in response to the George Floyd killing and Black Live Matter protests.
The premiere of the eighth season was pushed back from fall 2020 to spring 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why Brooklyn Nine-Nine might not be annoying:

Creators Michael Schur and Dan Goor had previously collaborated on Parks and Recreation.
Schur and Goor felt police stations had been underutilized as comedy settings since Barney Miller ended.
Samberg had planned to take a break from television after seven years on SNL, but after reading the pilot script he decided the show was too funny to pass up.
After shooting the scenes as scripted, cast members are allowed to improvise to see if they can make the scene funnier.
NBC picked it up only a day after Fox announced it would not be renewing the series.
Several of the celebrities who rallied popular support for the show after its cancellation (such as Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sean Astin) have made guest appearances.
’Rolling Stone’ noted, ‘Where even great sitcoms tend to run out of steam by their fourth or fifth season, Brooklyn feels as strong as it’s ever been.’ (2019)
