U.S. Governor

The Resume

    (September 6, 1962- )
    Born in Newark, New Jersey
    Raised in Livingston, New Jersey
    Governor of New Jersey (2010 - )
U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey (2002-2008)

Why he might be annoying:

    His name is very alliterative.
He is known for being outspoken.
To say he doesn't get along with teachers unions is an understatement.
A clerical error by a member of his office cost New Jersey some $400 million in federal money towards education. He tried to scapegoat the Obama administration before it was proven not to be true.
He decided to stop a long-running plan to add a second rail tunnel between New Jersey and New York due to costs. He has yet to pay back federal funds related to the project.
While he was a U.S. attorney, he had a tendency to overspend on travel and leave the DOJ to pay for it.
He opted not to cancel a vacation to Disney World when his state was being pounded with a blizzard.
Members of his administration intentionally closed lanes on the George Washington Bridge as a way to create traffic jams in Fort Lee after Fort Lee's Democratic mayor chose not to endorse Christie's re-election bid. He apologized and denied any knowledge of the scandal (January 9, 2014).

Why he might not be annoying:

In winning the governorship, he was the first Republican to win an election affecting all of New Jersey in over a decade.
He tried to do everything he could to cut spending after he took office.
Unlike the government in a neighboring state, he did everything he could to pass New Jersey's budget on time.
As an attorney, he overcame a lack of experience to succeed, as he was able to not lose a case. In 130 instances, pubic officials were either convicted or plead guilty.
He became popular nationally due to his handling of Superstorm Sandy (2012).
He has a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall's School of Law.
