Why he might be annoying:

Rogers used several 'Triggers' throughout his movie career.
Rogers gave him his nickname, so it was assuredly a biased one.
Dell comics put out a comic book of his adventures.
When the original died in 1965, Rogers had him skinned and stretched his hide over a plaster replica (not stuffed as some believe).
His meat was sold to a local butcher, John L. Jones, who ground it up and sold it to over 3 dozen local diners.
Nobody knows how many people ended up eating some of Trigger.
Jones got 5 years in prison.

Why he might not be annoying:

Rogers saw him in the movie 'The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)' being ridden by Maid Marian (Olivia de Havilland), took a liking to him and persuaded the owner to sell him.
He was a faithful companion animal.
At some points in time he received more fan mail than Rogers.
He was arguably the most famous horse in Hollywood (giving Silver and Mr. Ed their due, of course).
Curators at the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Missouri state he is far and away the most popular tourist attraction at the museum.
