    (October 19, 1900-May 1982)
Born in New York City, New York
Grandmother, widow and one of the best known regulars at the famous disco Studio 54
    Former attorney
    Founded nightclub ‘Disco Sally’
Portrayed as ‘Disco Dottie’ in film ‘54’ (1998)
    Birth name is Sally Lippman
She wore prescription sunglasses on the dance floor because of the bright lights.
She was unfazed by Studio 54’s rampant sex and drug use.
She was exempt from the club's 10 dollar admission fee.
She was always allowed in, when even celebrities were often turned away.
Talk of making a movie about her life went nowhere.
She wanted disco music played at her funeral.
She claimed disco had a ‘hypnotic effect’ on her.
She gave up practicing law in 1937 out of disgust with the justice system.
She began dancing nightly as a way to get over her first husband’s death.
She had an entourage of attractive young men she often cooked for.
She married another Studio 54 regular, a 26 year old she described as ‘a Greek god.’
The film ‘54’ wrongly insinuated she died on the dance floor.
She said, ‘Everyone should go to discos and there would be no more wars.’
