    Her father often handled the social affairs traditionally handled by the First Lady.
    She did not live in the White House for most of her father's presidency.
    She is named after her mother.
    Her mother died when she was very young.
    Her son was the first child born in the White House.
    She kept her father company in Monticello until he died.
