TV Network
    (April 14, 1994- )
    Born in United States
Owned by Turner Broadcasting System (TimeWarner)
    24-hour movie channel
Broadcast in over 30 different countries
In their inaugural year they made a promise to air classic films 'uninterrupted, uncolorized and commercial-free!'
However, they broke that promise when they aired a colorized version of the 1941 film 'The Maltese Falcon' which upset many viewers.
    Two words: Ted Turner.
They showcase a wide range of films from old age classics to modern contemporaries.
Every year prior to the Oscars, they showcase a series of Oscar-nominated/winning films called '31 Days of Oscar.'
Unlike American Movie Classics, they still air movies commercial-free.
They usually show movies in various 'genre blocks' (i.e., a block dedicated to great actors while another to horror films).
