Why he might be annoying:

He goes by the pretentious single name, Romario.
His first income came from cleaning windshields at traffic lights.
Although he had great skill he was selfish on the field and frequently didn't show up for training.
He was banned for three matches when he was sent off for fighting in a match with Chile (1990).
After soccer great Pele suggested he retire, he said that Pele 'talks shit' and he should 'put a shoe in his mouth' (January 14, 2005).

He founded the Romario Foundation, a project to help street children in Rio de Janeiro.
He won the 'Golden Ball' MVP in the 1994 World Cup.
He scored the winning goal in the 1989 Coppa America against Uruguay.
He is left handed.
