    He won the Grammy for Best New Artist of 1961 even though he had recorded two albums in 1958.
    He said, 'I always joke with people that I've been married for 50 years... but to three different wives.'
    He jumped onto the disco bandwagon for an album with predictably dire results.
    His piano playing was praised by Vladimir Horowitz and Ray Charles.
    He wrote a software program and was a consultant to Tandy/Radio Shack for two decades.
    After a 2008 concert, a reviewer wrote, 'Nero plays with the energy of a 20-year-old rock and roll drummer.'
