He was responsible for helping to launch the careers of Bing Crosby, Kate Smith, Frank Sinatra,Jack Benny,Jackie Gleason, Lucille Ball Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow.
He turned a failing network of 22 radio stations into a vast broadcast empire with hundreds of radio and television affiliates,.
