    (January 9, 1916-October 19, 2009)
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
Composed hits for Doris Day and the Andrews Sisters including 'My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time,' 'There's a Faraway Look in Your Eyes' and 'The Whole World Is Singing My Song'
Wrote the theme songs for The Addams Family and Green Acres
    He played the accordion.
While working in a wedding band as a teen, he painted on a mustache with an eyebrow pencil to look older.
He composed scores for five Don Knotts films.
He wrote an anti-jaywalking jingle for the city of New York.
His career as a Top 40 songwriter was overshadowed by his sitcom themes.
He and his first songwriting partner, Irving Taylor, won a talent contest on Fred Allen's radio show.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He certainly had a knack for a memorable theme song.
For the Addams Family theme, he played the harpsichord and sang all the vocal parts, overdubbing himself three times.
He quipped about the royalties from that song, 'Two finger snaps and you live in Bel-Air.'
