The Resume

    (October 22, 1936-March 8, 2020)
    Born in Eumseong, South Korea
    Birth name was Jong-seung Yune
Best known for starring in the film ‘They Call Me Bruce?’ (1982) and its sequel ‘They Still Call Me Bruce’ (1987)
Also appeared in the films ‘Meteor’ (1979) and ‘Cannonball Run’ (1981) and episodes of M*A*S*H and The Love Boat

Why he might be annoying:

He would start his sets with an exaggerated ‘Herro.’
Despite the premise of ‘They Call Me Bruce’ that everyone mistakes him for Bruce Lee, the two do not look much like each other.
His wife accused him of domestic abuse when she filed for divorce (2010).
His appointment to the Korean Tourism Organization was controversial due to his lack of qualifications and suspicions that the post was a reward for his encouraging Koreans living in California to vote for President Park Geun-hye (2014).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of the first successful Asian stand-up comedians, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 34 times.
He performed at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Seoul (1988).
He hosted the first American-style talk show in Korea, but left after a year due to censorship restrictions (1989-90).
