He spent the first few seasons of his career on awful Jets teams.
He was traded to the Eagles after Bill Parcells publicly stated he didn't fit the mold of his team.
He got into a public spat with Terrell Owens, which played a role in the team's decision to suspend him.
He was fired by ESPN after he shouted racial epithets and threatened to kill his co-worker in a drunken altercation (August 2013).
He was charged with domestic abuse after he grabbed his girlfriend by the throat and threw her against a wall (2014).

He was a standout defensive star at Central State University.
He was the first Jets player to earn Defensive Rookie of the Year honors (1995).
He thrived in the Eagles defensive system, which catered to his style of play.
He spent his final NFL season as a member of the Eagles team that played in Super Bowl XXXIX (2004).
He was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame (2018).
