    (March 7, 1990- )
    Born in New Germany, Minnesota
    Dicephalic conjoined twins
One of only four sets of dicephalus twins in history to survive infancy
Left twin (in pictures) full name is Abigail 'Abby' Loraine Hensel
Right twin (in pictures) full name is Brittany 'Britty' Lee Hensel
Besides 2 heads they share 2 arms, 2 spinal cords/backbones, 4 lungs (two joined), 2 breasts, 2 hearts with shared circulatory system, 1 liver, 2 stomachs, 3 kidneys, 2 gallbladders, 1 bladder, 1 ribcage, 1 small & large intestine, 1 reproductive system,1 pelvis and 2 legs
Ambidextrous - they can write two different papers at the same time
Surgeries include removal of malformed third arm between heads, scoliosis correction of their spines and expanding the chest cavity for easier breathing
Whenever they fight they can't get away from one another.
Abigail is more feisty and likes to be the boss of the family, Brittany is the joker.
They like different foods but reluctantly will share a meal if pressed for time (like eating one burger at different ends).
When Brittany got pneumonia Abigail became bored and for a brief period didn't want to be attached to her sister (she later apologized).
They trade off what to wear each day as they have different tastes in clothes, at times wearing different shoes.
They had to take two driver's tests to get their license, and Abigail liked to drive faster than Brittany. (would they get one or two speeding tickets?)
Sex and marriage could be a problem, with two different personalities and only one set of sex organs.
If separated as kids they would be confined to wheelchairs, something both parents and twins agree was not an option.
Abigail offered to take the pneumonia medicine when Brittany couldn't hold it down (medicine taken by one affects both).
Each one controls one arm and one leg but they are amazingly coordinated and participate in volleyball, softball, basketball, cycling and swimming.
Other hobbies include piano playing, singing, photography, film making and surfing the net (they've mastered typing).
Their parents, siblings, friends and the entire community feel right at home around them, and when strangers ask questions they try to give them informative answers.
Though immensely private, they know their unique condition could provide future answers and have shared their lives with Time and Life magazines as well as Oprah and specials on TV networks Discovery Channel and TLC.
Their mother greets them by giving each a kiss as individuals then one big hug to honor their unity.
