The Resume

    (October 29, 1944-December 5, 2023)
    Born in Channel Islands
Birth name was Brian Frederick Arthur Hines
    Guitarist and vocalist
Member of The Moody Blues (1964-66) and Paul McCartney and Wings (1971-81)
Recorded the solo albums ‘Ahh…Laine’ (1973), ‘Holly Days’ (1977), ‘Japanese Tears’ (1980), ‘Anyone Can Fly’ (1982), ‘Wings on My Feet’ (1987), ‘Lonely Road’ (1988), and ‘Reborn’ (1996)

Why he might be annoying:

His stage name was taken from his sister’s favorite singer, Frankie Laine.
His solo career never really went anywhere, with his highest charting US single being a Buddy Holly medley that peaked at #108 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under the Hot 100 chart (1978).
His song ‘Japanese Tears’ dissed Paul over his 1980 drug bust in Tokyo.
He and his wife Jo Jo named their son Laine. (Although at least their son was Laine Hines instead of Laine Laine.)
Jo Jo left him after discovering he was having a fling with her best friend (1981).
He filed for bankruptcy in the mid-1980s.

Why he might not be annoying:

His first guitar hero was Django Reinhardt.
He sang lead on the Moody Blues’ first hit single, ‘Go Now.’
He, Paul, and Linda were the only permanent members of Wings.
He co-wrote Wings’ ‘Mull of Kintyre’ (1977), which became the first song to sell over two million singles in Great Britain. (A sales record broken in 1984 by Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’).
He said, ‘There’s no substitute for playing live and getting the feeling of connecting with an audience.’
