Quarterback for the U. of Miami (Fla.) (1978-82), Houston Gamblers (USFL) (1984-85) and lo Bills (NFL) (1986-96)

Why he might be annoying:

In the early part of his NFL career, he was known as an egomaniac.
Despite being taken in the first round of the NFL draft (1983), he eschewed the NFL for the short-lived USFL.
He quarterbacked four straight Super Bowl loses (XXV-XXVIII).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a master of the no-huddle offense.
He was proficient at calling his own plays, rather than relying on the coach to feed him plays via headphone.
He's the only QB to lead his team to four consecutive Super Bowls.
He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame his first year of eligibility.
His fan base was so large, that the Hall of Fame induction ceremony was moved to the local football stadium to accommodate his myriads of fans.
His son Hunter (February 14, 1997-August 5, 2005) suffers from Krabbes Leukodystrophy, a rare condition affecting the nervous system.
Though his son was not expected to see his second birthday, his son has survived and continued to exceed everyone's expectations, having started school in the fall of 2002.
He founded Hunter's Hope, for people whose children suffer from Krabbes Disease.
In one of the most moving Hall of Fame induction speeches ever, he emotionally praised Hunter, calling him his hero.
He is an enduring hero in Buffalo, New York.
