    He thinks everyone is beneath him.
    Insiders at his businesses think he is a bad manager because he has no patience.
    He uses his newspapers and TV companies to influence political elections in Australia, Britain and the USA.
    He bought the British tabloid The News Of The World despite promising the family that owned it that he would not seek control if they sold him a 40% stake.
    He divorced his wife to take up with one of his female executives.
    He later married Wendi Deng, 40 years his junior (July 1999).
    He is estimated to be worth nearly $6 billion.
    He took American citizenship in the 1980s so that he could buy into the American media market.
    News Corporation is the ultimate example of nepotism: all its divisions are headed by Murdochs.
    News Corporation dodges taxes by owning subsidiaries in the Cayman Islands.
    He wouldn't publish Hong Kong Governor Chris Patten's memoirs in order to avoid offending China, a market into which he is keen to break.
    His publishing companies have given lucrative deals to Margaret Thatcher and Newt Gingrich at times when it was politically expedient to do so.
    In order to force people to subscribe to his satellite and cable channels, he buys up the exclusive rights to major sporting events at any cost, passing that cost along to advertisers and subscribers.
    He published Howard Stern's home address in one of his New York newspapers.
    If he gets too many annoying votes, he will probably buy the website and close it down.

    He built his media empire from humble beginnings on a small Australian newspaper.
    He started publishing topless 'Page 3' girls in the British tabloid The Sun.
    His newspapers regularly take cheap shots at George W. Bush his family.
    He has a long-running feud with Ted Turner.
    He donated $10M towards the building of a new Catholic Cathedral in Los Angeles.
    He shut down 'New of the World' after revelations its reporters had hacked into the phones of crime victims (July 2011).
