    Born in New York, New York
    First American born saint, canonized in 1975
    Helped found Catholic schools in the United States
    Patron saint of Catholic schools
    Her first attempt at starting a school failed.
    Before her conversion to Catholicism, she was a bit of a WASP snob.
    Her husband's business went bankrupt before his death.
    She established the first tuition free private school in the United States.
    Her friends and family abandoned her when she joined the Catholic Church.
    She died of tuberculosis when she was only 46.
    Innumerable schools, hospitals, colleges, and universities including Seton Hall University are named after her.
