Why Sunday might be annoying:

    WhileEuropean Union countries consider it the last day of the week, in the U.S. it's the first day of the week.
    In Israel and most Muslim countries, Sunday is a working day.
    Christianity considers it the Lord's Day, so those who don't fall in this category are left to call it whatever the heck they want.
    No less than a dozen historical acts of violence have been named 'Bloody Sunday,' several of them involving Northern Ireland's struggle against the United Kingdom.
    Similarly, over a dozen negative newsworthy events have been labeled 'Black Sunday,' including the day NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt was killed on the last lap of the Daytona 500 in 2001.
    January 17, 1982 has been referred in the U.S. as 'Cold Sunday,' where a Canadian weather front plunged temperatures to all time lows in several cities, including Chicago (−27 °F), Madison, Wisconsin (−31 °F) and International Falls, Minnesota (−45 °F).
    Though now considered obsolete, 'Sunday' was the name of a computer virus between 1989 and 1998.
    Mail is not delivered on Sundays in the U.S..
    A person perceived to be a lousy motorist may be referred to as a 'Sunday driver.'

Why Sunday might not be annoying:

    It is celebrated by those of the Christian faith as a 'holy day' and 'day of rest,' commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
    Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day always fall on a Sunday.
    For many U.S. workers it is the second day of the two day weekend.
    Most pesky U.S. government offices are closed Sundays.
    According to the 1838 English nursery rhyme 'Monday's Child,' - 'the child who is born on the Sabbath Day (Sunday) is bonny and blithe and good and gay (happy).'
    Former popular MLB outfielder turned preacher Billy Sunday (his real name) became an influential and beloved American evangelist during the turn of the 20th century.
    Sunday newspapers are traditionally much larger in size, contain many additional features and come with color comic strips.
    Super Bowl Sunday (as well as most other NFL) games are played on Sundays.
    The London based '80s-'90s alternative rock group The Sundays took their name from it.
    Various songs have the title 'Sunday Morning,' including compositions by The Velvet Underground, Maroon 5, Earth, Wind and Fire, Ani Difranco, No Doubt and Julian Lennon.
    If somebody is said to be dressed in their 'Sunday best,' it means they are sharply and immaculately attired.
