The Resume

    (1988- )
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Members were ex-Banarama singer Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit (1989-93)
Recorded the albums 'Sacred Heart' (1989), 'Hormonally Yours' (1992) '#3' (2004) and 'Songs from the Red Room' (2009)
    Recorded the singles 'Heroine' (1989), 'You're History' (1989), 'Stay' (1992), 'I Don't Care' (1992), 'Hello (Turn Your Radio On)' (1992), 'My 16th Apology' (1993) and 'I Can Drive' (1996)

Why they might be annoying:

They canceled a European tour and Fahey checked herself into a hospital for severe depression (1992).
Detroit first discovered she was out of the band when it was announced publicly at the Ivor Novello Awards (1993).
By the time of the release of 'My 16th Apology,' Detroit and Fahey were no longer on speaking terms and a video for the song had to be assembled from outtakes from earlier videos.
Since 1993, Fahey has released both solo albums and Shakespears Sister albums, even though she's the only member of Shakespears Sister so the band's albums are de facto solo albums.

Why they might not be annoying:

They took their name from a song by The Smiths.
The band allowed Fahey to show a darker and more sophisticated side of herself than Banarama had.
'Stay' was #1 for eight weeks in Britain and was a Top Five hit in the US.
