Why he might be annoying:

He was an alcoholic.
He feuded with his brother Tommy.
Although he and Tommy were co-leaders of the same band, Tommy did most of the work.
He was not as commercially successful as his brother.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made his professional debut at age seven.
He was proficient with the clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet.
Charlie Parker was a fan his saxophone skills.
Unlike his brother, he was more tolerant and easy-going with the musicians in his band.
After Tommy left the band, he managed to keep it successfully performing until the 1950s.
He consistently ranked as one of the top recording artists of the year.
He was featured on 'Ripley's Believe It or Not' when he played 'Flight of the Bumblebee' in two breaths. He later did it in one breath.
He eventually reconciled with Tommy.
Elvis Presley made his national television debut on the Dorsey's 'Stage Show.'
