Many historians believe their vice president's policies were more Democratic-Republican than Whig.
They are known for William Henry Harrison's campaign slogan 'Tippecanoe and Tyler Too!'
Many believe Harrison's early death killed the party.

Why Whig Party might not be annoying:

Abraham Lincoln started out as a member.
John Quincy Adams became a member when he was elected to the House of Representatives.
They were concerned with improving transportation.
They were very popular in urban areas.
The only two presidents they elected were war heros.
