He was an official during the infamous 'Brawl At The Palace' between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons.
He validated accusations of fixed officiating by conspiracy theorists, notably Marc Cuban.
NBA commissioner David Stern called him a 'rogue official.'
His scandal coincided with Michael Vick's dog fighting case, Barry Bonds' controversial home run chase and allegations of steroid abuse in pro golf and the Tour de France.
Why he might not be annoying
He graduated Villanova University.
Some of his neighbors called him a 'dedicated family man.'
He participated in the NBA's 'Read To Achieve' program.
He resigned from his position as an NBA official, so the league was not forced to fire him.
