Oddity
    (circa 1984- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in San Diego, California
Student at Mesa College in San Diego
    Hooters restaurant waitress
Denied permission to ride a Southwest Airlines flight to Tuscon, Arizona after boarding due to the appearance of her clothing (July 3, 2007)
She was traveling to Tuscon for a follow-up doctor's appointment after receiving breast implants.
She was informed by an attendant with other staff and passengers present that the outfit she wore was too revealing to continue her flight.
Her job as a Hooters waitress and photos from her personal website suggested a history of wearing provocative clothing.
After adjusting her clothing for the flight, she covered herself with a blanket due to feeling intimidated by airline staff.
When wearing the same flight outfit during media interviews, she was accused by some of altering the outfit to cover more of her body.
During one interview, her underpants could be seen as she sat down in her chair after first standing up to display her flight outfit.
Southwest Airlines defended the flight attendant's criticism of Ebbert's outfit before apologizing for the incident.
The airline later decided to market from the incident by offering passengers a 'miniskirt fare' discount, which Ebbert found exploitive.
She considered suing the airline over the incident.
She denied trying to appear provocative before boarding her flight, stating she wore a high cut top to cover implant surgery scars and that she did not find her skirt length inappropriate.
She stated that she was humiliated by incident and the attention drawn to her during the flight.
Her outfit did not violate any airline dress code because none was in effect.
On the return flight she heard no complaints from staff or passengers and was actually complimented on the same outfit.
Her skirt length was similar to that of Southwest Airlines flight attendants over thirty years earlier.
Some questioned whether a celebrity wearing a similar outfit would have been judged for her appearance.
