    (November 23, 1945-May 12, 2018)
Born in Fraserbugh, Scotland, United Kingdom
Was a cook in the Army Catering Corps (1961-72) and a Metropolitan Police officer (1972-73)
    Serial killer and necrophiliac
Killed 15 teens and young men (1978-83)
Convicted on six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder (November 4, 1983)
Sentenced to life in prison with a 25 year minimum term
Known as the Muswell Hill Killer and the British Dahmer
He had sex with the corpses of his victims.
Two would-be victims escaped and went to the police, who declined to investigate, dismissing the complaints as gay domestic disputes.
He was caught after the drains of his apartment building became clogged when he flushed parts of his victims down the toilet.
He said if he had not been caught, he would have continued killing and might have had 'thousands' of victims.
He complained about press coverage of his trial, 'No one wants to ever believe that I am just an ordinary man come to an extraordinary and overwhelming conclusion.'
He sued (unsuccessfully) to get access to gay porn in prison (2001).
When he was eight, he nearly drowned in the ocean. His rescuer stripped him naked and masturbated onto him.
He was denied any further requests for parole (2006).
He inspired a character in Poppy Z. Brite's novel 'Exquisite Corpse.'
