    She states her tough childhood and neighborhood caused her to suffer depression.
    She lists both Mariah Carey and J-Lo as women who changed her life.
    She was 'discovered' by a taxi driver who listened to her sing in his cab and introduced her to a record company exec.
    She sang as a kid in parks and if front of class as one half of the kiddie duo 'Sugar & Spice' (she was Spice).
    Her record company was blown away by her singing and signed the 16-year-old to a contract the same day she sang for them.
    She wrote 11 of the 12 songs on her debut album.
