The Resume

He goes by his middle name, rather then his birth name of Michael.
He failed to live up to his first overall draft billing.

His longest stint with one team during his NBA career was six years.
He was traded for players who got his previous teams over their playoff hump, such as being traded to the Pistons for Bob Lanier (1980) and to the Jazz for Adrian Dantley (1986).
He made poor investments with his money following his playing career, which prompted him to declare bankruptcy.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of the Indiana University team that went undefeated and won the National championship (1976).
He was the MVP of the NCAA National championship.
He worked as an insurance salesman, and served as a part owner of a car dealership in the years following his playing career.
He lost his longtime partner to cancer, and his brother to a heart attack within a week of each other.
