He was originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1995, but he refused to sign with them.
He played in the minor leagues of nearly a decade.
He was briefly demoted to high-A ball before being promoted to AA ball again.
The Mariners used him for mostly middle reliever duty,

In his debut against the San Diego Padres, he only allowed three hits and struck a batter out.
He finished the 2004 season with a 1-2 record and 4.13 ERA, striking out 30 batters in 32.2 innings of work.
