The Resume

    (August 14, 1953- )
    Born in Boston, Massachusetts
    Real estate executive
Owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers (2004-2011)

Why he might be annoying:

He may be mistaken for the author of the same name.
He attempted to buy his hometown team, the Boston Red Sox, but the deal fell through.
He also tried unsuccessfully to buy the Los Angeles Angels and NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the 2005 season, the team had a 71-91 record under his watch. It was the second worst win-loss record since the team moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958.
In the midst of the Dodgers competing in the 2009 playoffs, he announced his separation from wife Jamie after nearly thirty years of marriage.
His bitter divorce case with Jamie soon exposed a great deal of problems of his mismanagement of the finances.
One of his blunders was allegedly using Dodger tickets profits to pay for luxury boats and houses.
Instead of complying with Major League Baseball and Commisioner Bud Selig in selling the Dodgers, he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and took his futile case to court.

Why he might not be annoying:

He attended Georgetown where he met his ex-wife Jamie and earned a degree in economics.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of his alma mater.
In 2004, he started the Dodger's charity ThinkCure to fight cancer.
He was instrumental in acquiring former Yankees manager Joe Torre and former Red Sox hitter Manny Ramirez in 2008.
