His elections were hotly disputed.
He’s personally against gay marriages.
He started the Mexican Drug War when he officially declared war on Mexico’s drug cartels, resulting in much havoc all over Mexico caused by the drug cartels.

His father founded the political party National Action Party at a time when Mexico was basically a one-party state (1939).
He continued his predecessor’s free market policies.
He improved the health care and education in poorer parts of Mexico.
To be fair, he sought to combat drug trafficking.
He vocally condemned the plight of illegal immigrants in the United States.
While many Latin American leaders drew closer to Europe or China, he remained an American ally.
When the international price of tortillas rose, he lowered the prices in Mexico (2007).
