Why she might be annoying
During the 1980s, she introduced a sportswear line of neutral colors that flopped.
She dropped out of college.
She used to walk barefoot around Palm Beach, Florida.
When she talks about people dying, she uses the terms 'croaked' or 'popped off.'
Her first husband later married the infamous Roxanne Pulitzer.
She shut down her company in 1984.
Why she might not be annoying
She volunteered at a hospital.
Of her fashion career, she says, 'I couldn't sew, couldn't draw--I just knew what I liked.'
Her signature dress was a bright, colorful shift dress, called--what else?--the Lilly.
She also created dresses for girls called Minnies.
She worked at a juice stand.
The 'Lilly' was born when she worked at the juice stand. She kept getting juice stains on her clothes, so she asked her seamstress to make her a brightly colored print dress where the stains wouldn't show.
Her company was relaunched in the 1990s and she served as creative consultant.
She wrote two books about lifestyle and entertaining.
