Why they might be annoying:

They're mimes.
They divorced after 14 years of marriage (1972-86) (maybe they couldn't communicate).
Shields played a mime in the Francis Ford Coppola movie 'The Conversation (1974)' (big stretch).
They made so many guest appearances on 'The Sonny and Cher Show' and 'The Mac Davis Show' that CBS gave them their own show. It was canceled after one season.
They did a Broadway show, 'Broadway Follies.' It was a big theatrical extravaganza, and a flop that closed after one performance.
Shields guest appeared on 'The Dukes of Hazzard' where he met and fell for Catherine Bach ('Daisy Duke'). He divorced Yarnell and married Bach, only to divorce her as well.

Why they might not be annoying:

Shields studied for a short time with famed mime Marcel Marceau, but got bored and blew him off to make a name for himself.
They appeared on 'The Muppet Show' and on 'The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson' six times.
They won an Emmy for their TV special 'Toys On The Town.'
Yarnell is an accomplished dancer. She's done choreography with Toni Basil and her tap has been praised by Gene Kelly.
They've played Las Vegas, gave a command performance for the Queen of England, and toured China with Bob Hope.
Some of their fans included Groucho Marx, Elvis Presley, George Burns and Jack Lemmon.
Their robot characters, 'The Clinkers,' inspired a generation of break dancers.
Yarnell appeared in the Mel Brooks movie 'Spaceballs (1987)' as 'Dot Matrix.'
Shields owns a successful Arizona art and jewelry business, and has sold some of his bling to Whoopi Goldberg, Barbra Streisand and Shirley MacLaine.
Though Yarnell has remarried and now teaches dance in Norway, they have recently found time to tour together a couple of months a year.
