Why she might be annoying
After winning the Ms Olympia, she never again placed higher than 4th.
She wore a variety of really ugly wigs when she competed.
She was never able to use her status as a top African American female athlete to make money through advertising.
Bodybuilding has advanced so far since her days as a competitor that she wouldn't even be able to enter the Ms. Olympia today.
Why she might not be annoying
She was remarkably feminine for a top notch female bodybuilder.
She missed winning the 1982 Ms Olympia contest by only two points.
She came in 5th (out of 45) in her first bodybuilding contest without ever having trained as a bodybuilder.
A lifelong natural athlete, she competed in gymnastics and swimming growing up and since retiring has become a professional trainer and owns her own gym.
She has an excellent personal website.
She is the only woman to have competed as a professional bodybuilder in the 70's, 80's and 90's.
She was well liked and respected by her competitors.
After retiring from bodybuilding, she launched a very successful career as a sports reporter/fitness show host.
