The Resume

    (April 18, 1959- )
    Born in Queens, New York
    Journalist and 'third wave' feminist
Wrote for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, Atlanta Journal Constitution and San Jose Mercury News
Wrote the books 'Backlash: The Undeclared War Against Women' (1991), 'Stiffed: The Betrayal of the American Man' (1999) and 'The Terror Dream' (2007)

Why she might be annoying:

She apparently does not keep her webpage up to date, since in mid-2015 the most recent event on its 'upcoming lecture schedule' dates back to 2009.
The New York Times reviewer called 'The Terror Dream' 'one of the most nonsensical volumes yet published about the aftermath of 9/11.'
She said about Anita Hill, 'I thought it was a classic example in microcosm of how the backlash works, because you had one woman stand up before a body of men and speak up, and what happened? She was pushed back by a storm of denunciation, of ridicule... Most of all, she was not listened to.'
However, when a woman accused a Democrat of sexual harassment, she dismissed it with, 'I think we can safely conclude that Paul Jones will not expire from whatever a brief brush with Clinton might have entailed all those years ago.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She won a Pulitzer Prize for reporting the effects on workers of a leveraged buyout of Safeway Stores (1991).
She said she was inspired to write 'Backlash' after seeing a 'Newsweek' cover story that college-educated women in their 30s were more likely to be killed by a terrorist than get married. She did some research, found that the story was based on flawed data and dubious assumptions and noted, 'I felt had.'
'Backlash' was described by 'Newsweek' as 'as groundbreaking as its two important predecessors, Simone de Beauvoir's 'The Second Sex' and Betty Friedan's 'The Feminine Mystique.''
She said, 'In order for women to live freely, men have to live freely, too.'
