Football Player
    (December 22, 1949- )
    Born in Swainsboro, Georgia
    Full name: William Ray Guy
Played professional football for the Oakland Raiders 1973-1986
Considered the greatest punter in the history of the game
Known for his long, high, accurate, punts with incredible hang times of up to six seconds
Selected to 7 Pro Bowls, 6 times All Pro, won 3 Super Bowls, played in 207 consecutive games and was selected a member of the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team
    Graduated from Southern Mississippi University
Lifetime punting average of 42.4 yards per kick
Member of the Mississippi and Georgia Sports Halls of Fame
Selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame (January 31, 2014)
He's never been in any danger of winning any awards for charisma.
He runs kicking camps year round including during the school year when even jocks are supposed to be concentrating on school.
His punts were simply incredible, he once hit the video screen at the Superdome which was 90 feet in the air and the hang time of his kicks once led an opponent to seize a ball he used to check it for helium!
He never had a punt returned for a touchdown and only had one blocked.
He was an amazing all-around athlete; drafted twice by the Cincinnati Reds in high school and college, he pitched a no hitter in college, and made sixteen interceptions playing free safety in addition to his kicking duties while at Southern Mississippi.
He also played quarterback in college and spent most of his career with the Raiders as their third string quarterback.
An excellent place kicker, he kicked and punted in college, setting a then NCAA record 61 yard field goal and did double duty for the Raiders for his first few years there.
He was the first pure punter selected in the first round of the NFL draft.
