    (February 11, 1935-October 12, 1971)
Birth name was Vincent Eugene Craddock
Recorded 'Be-Bop-a-Lula' (1956), 'Race with the Devil' (1956), 'Blue Jean Bop' (1956), 'Lotta Lovin' (1957), 'Dance to the Bop' (1958) and 'Pistol Packin' Mama' (1960)
Appeared in 'The Girl Can't Help It' (1956)
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1998)
He got a record contract solely because he sounded like Elvis.
He was an alcoholic and addicted to painkillers.
His backing band, the Blue Caps, quit after not being paid for several weeks and after he sold their instruments to pay an outstanding tax bill.
While serving in the US Navy, he was in a motorcycle accident that nearly required amputation of his leg and left him in chronic pain.
He re-injured his leg in the same car crash in which Eddie Cochran died.
His all-black leather look influenced Jim Morrison.
Unlike many other rock veterans, he refused to launch a second career in country music, saying, 'I'm a rock n roller and I'll die a rock n roller.'
