Politician

The Resume

    (February 25, 1890-November 8, 1986)
Joined the Bolshevik faction of the Social Democratic Labour Party (1905)
    Editorial secretary of the Pravda
Key player in the February and October Revolutions
Elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party (1921)
Elected as a member of the Politburo (1924)
Appointed as Prime Minister under Josef Stalin (1930)
Commissar of Foreign Affairs for the Soviet Union (1930-1949, 1953-1956)

Why he might be annoying:

He got involved with the Bolsheviks when he was only 15 years old.
He was considered to be Josef Stalin's right hand man, involved heavily in the establishment of the brutal Five Year Plan which starved most of the Soviet Union.
He was suspected in being involved with the execution of many of the old Bolshevik members opposing Stalin during the 1930's.
He became Commissar of Foreign Affairs after the Jewish origins of the old Commissar of Foreign Affairs created problems for Stalin during diplomatic meetings with Nazi Germany.
He and Ribbentrop arranged the Soviet-German Non-aggression Pact between their two countries, which was later broken by Hitler only two years later by Operation Barbarossa, the complete invasion of the Soviet Union.
He was at Stalin's side during the meetings of the Big Three, held at Teheran (1943), Yalta (1945) and Potsdam (1945).
He was removed by Stalin of the post of Commissar of Foreign Affairs, and regained it after Stalin's death, only to try to overthrow the new leader of the Soviet Union, Nikita Khrushchev.
He was demoted to the position of ambassador to Mongolia as a punishment.
What kind of first name is Vyacheslav?

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the namesake of the 'Molotov cocktail,' used and created for the first time by the Finnish army against invading Soviet forces in spite of the Soviet Union and Molotov's speeches saying the Soviet Union would triumph over the weak Finnish Army, something that proved not to be the case.
He was one of the only old-school Bolsheviks to survive the Stalin purges in the Soviet Union during and after World War II, and managed to live almost as long as the Soviet Union itself.
He was expelled from the party (1964).
He lived the remainder of his life in Moscow and was given back his party membership shortly before his death (November 8, 1986).
