Murderers

The Resume

Martha Beck (May 6, 1920-March 8, 1951), born in Milton, Florida
Beck's birth name was Martha Seabrook
Raymond Fernandez (December 17, 1914-March 8, 1951), born in Hawaii
Known as the Lonely Hearts Killers
May have murdered up to 20 women
    Convicted of three murders
Executed in the electric chair at Sing-Sing Prison

Why they might be annoying:

After getting pregnant out of wedlock, Beck went through an elaborate charade of claiming the father was a soldier she had married, later announcing he had died overseas.
Her shotgun marriage to Alfred Beck broke up in six months.
Fernandez robbed over a hundred women who he met through 'Lonely Hearts' ads.
After they met, Beck became Fernandez's accomplice, posing as his sister.
Beck abandoned her two children at the Salvation Army while travelling with Beck.
They went from robbing women to killing them, due to Beck's jealousy whenever Fernandez slept with a mark.
Beck drowned the two-year-old daughter of one of their victims after becoming enraged by her crying.
After the murder, they went to the movies and munched on popcorn.
During their murder trial, Beck giggled on the stand while describing Fernandez deceiving their victims.

Why they might not be annoying:

Beck claimed to have been sexually assaulted by her brother, then beaten by her mother who blamed her for the attack.
Beck graduated first in her class from nursing school.
Fernandez served with British intelligence during World War II.
Fernandez suffered a skull fracture when he was hit by a hatch cover during a ship voyage (1945).
When they were arrested in Michigan, Fernandez confessed with the understanding that they would not be extradited to New York (Michigan had no death penalty, New York did), only to be extradited anyway.
During their trial, the New York press constantly ridiculed Beck's weight (200+ pounds).
They inspired the cult film 'The Honeymoon Killers' (1970).
