Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was pigeonholed into the enforcer role in order to secure a roster spot in the NHL.
He recorded 408 penalty minutes during the 1991-92 season.
His feat makes him one of three players in NHL history to record 400+ penalty minutes in a single season.
He never spoke up against the Devils medical staff, after they rushed him back into the lineup two games after he sustained a serious concussion (1993).
When he finally spoke his opinion on his care three years after the incident, the Devils traded him to St. Louis in order to get rid of him altogether.

Why he might not be annoying:

He initially played as a defenseman, before voluntarily switching to forward.
He was a member of the inaugural Senators team, where he was able to showcase his offensive skill.
He thrived playing on ‘The Crash Line’ alongside Bobby Holik and Randy McKay in New Jersey.
He was a member of the Devils first Stanley Cup championship team (1995).
His career ended prematurely as a result of both a spinal cord injury and lingering effects of post-concussion syndrome.
