Literally translated to ‘Crystal Night,’ the date of the German national pogrom against the Jewish community as a response to the assassination of a German diplomat by Jewish resistance fighter, Herschel Grynszpan. Widely believed to have been the beginning of the Nazi Holocaust. NOTE: This collection features public figures who died on the date of November 9th, and NOT necessarily public figures who died as part of the historical event.
