Linda Womack (1952- ), birth name was Linda Cooke
Linda is the daughter of Sam Cooke
Recorded the albums 'Love Wars' (1983), 'Radio M.U.S.I.C. Man' (1985), 'Starbright' (1986), 'Conscience' (1988), 'Family Spirit' (1991) and 'Transformation to the House of Zekkariyas' (1993)
As House of Zekkariyas, recorded the album 'Sub Conscience' (2002)
Cecil first proposed marriage to Linda when she was twelve.
Cecil is both Linda's husband and her step-uncle. (His brother Bobby married Linda's mother.)
Just to further tangle those family trees, Cecil's ex-wife, Motown singer Mary Wells, had a daughter with yet another Womack brother, Curtis.
They often used 'Dr. Rue and the Gypsy Wave Banner' as a songwriting pseudonym.
After a trip to Nigeria, they changed their names to Zeriiya (Linda) and Zekkariyas (Cecil).
In addition to their own songs, they wrote hits for Teddy Pendergrass ('Love T.K.O.'), The O'Jays ('I Just Want to Satisfy') and George Benson ('New Day').
Their 'Radio M.U.S.I.C. Man' album featured unfinished Sam Cooke songs completed by the duo.
Linda said, 'Our relationship works because we value being close to each other. We share the same values and goals.'
