    (November 20, 1957- )
    Born in Ogbia, Nigeria
    Nigerian politician
Birth name is Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan
Served as Governor of Bayelsa State from 2005 to 2007
Served as Vice-President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010

    The fedora!
His wife was investigated on money laundering allegations (with sums as large as $13 Million).
He originally came into office after his predecessor fell ill and subsequently died.
He somehow ended up in politics despite having a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate in zoology, and a Master’s in hydrobiology/fisheries biology.
His entire political career was pretty much a 'happy accident' (he was Deputy Governor of Bayelsa when his Governor was impeached on corruption charges in 1999).
A WikiLeaks email revealed an American diplomat commenting on his 'underwhelming personality,' claiming that he 'lacked charisma.'
He tried to put a 2-year ban on the Nigerian national soccer team after a poor showing at the 2010 World Cup, but backed down due to pressure from FIFA.
He didn't seem to have any problem with the LGBT community until Uganda and Kenya passed anti-gay legislation (can you say 'peer pressure?')
He caused a national uproar when he tried to have the University of Lagos renamed Moshood Abiola University, with staff/students actually filing lawsuits against the Nigerian government before he relented (May 2012).
He was accused of allowing Boko Haram to run rampant and terrorize Nigeria. He was specifically blamed for botching rescue efforts following Boko Haram's kidnapping of 230 Chibok schoolgirls (Apr. 2014).
    He plays the guitar.
His name sounds like a secret agent's.
His middle name, Ebele, means 'God's wish' (technically making his name Goodluck God's Will Jonathan...)
He worked as an environmental protection officer before taking office.
He became the first sitting Nigerian president to have his own Facebook page.
He earned praise, as Vice President, for forging an agreement with militant groups in the Niger Delta, putting an end to growing violence through diplomacy.
He appointed a record number of women to government jobs in his administration, including the country's first female Chief Justice.
He fought corruption, bribery, and crony capitalism in Nigerian politics (he signed the Freedom of Information Act into Nigeria's law).
He is the first Nigerian President from Southern Nigeria, and his election resulted in the maximum number of bombings/riots possible from political rivals unwilling to accept his election.
His political opponents attempted to frame him for acts of terror in the days leading up to his 2011 reelection day, but the accusations proved unfounded smears.
Many believe that he had the bad luck to be associated with a corrupt previous administration and scapegoated (now he knows how Gerald Ford felt...)
Not to put too fine a point on it, but Sinatra-style black fedoras will beat Karzai-style fetal lamb tissue caps any day...
