TV Personality
    (November 10, 1919-May 29, 1997)
    Born in Beijing, China
Announcer/sidekick for the radio (1947-56) and TV (1950-61) versions of You Bet Your Life
Hosted the game shows 'Anybody Can Play' (1958) and 'Your Surprise Package' (1961-62)
Hosted the program 'Your Funny, Funny Films' (1963)
Announced 'The story you are about to see is true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent' for Dragnet
His attempts to step out from the sidekick role and host a game show were short-lived.
He decided he was not cut out for the movies during filming of 'The Thing' (1951) when Howard Hawks re-assigned an expository speech from the lead actor to Fenneman and it required 27 takes for him to get through the technical jargon without stumbling.
He was a pitchman for Lipton Tea, Philip Morris and Home Savings of America.
He was married to Peggy Ann Clifford for 54 years.
He was a fan of the Marx Brothers growing up and considered working with Groucho a dream job.
He was able to quickly calculate the contestants' scores on the fly, despite Groucho's tendency to encourage them to bet odd amounts, like $17.36.
Groucho called him 'the perfect straight man,' and the two remained good friends until Groucho's death.
