Why he might be annoying:

In his teens, he sold pot and speed.
He got his position at Motown Records largely because he had befriended Kerry Gordy, son of label founder Berry Gordy, in high school.
Lopez filed a complaint with the California labor commission, claiming he had misappropriated $100,000 of her earnings (2003).
In a lawsuit against Lopez, Hakob Manoukian, her former driver, claimed Medina bullied him over his fashion sense and poor fluency in English. (The suit was settled out of court in 2013.)
In 2017, actor Jason Dottley accused him of attempted rape during a tour of Medina's mansion nine years earlier; Dottley said he was inspired to come forward by Anthony Rapp's allegations against Kevin Spacey.

Why he might not be annoying:

After his mother died and his father abandoned the family, he was placed in foster homes until he and his siblings were taken in by an aunt.
In his teens, he befriended the son of Hollywood composer Jack Elliot and convinced the Elliot family to let him move into a refurbished garage on their property.
He then began attending Beverly Hills High School and was elected class president.
His climb from rags to riches loosely inspired 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.'
Despite the 2003 accusations, J.Lo rehired him as her manager and also made him godfather to her twin children (2008).
He won a Daytime Emmy as producer of Tyra Banks' talk show (2008).
