Why he might be annoying:

She was thought to be male and was called ‘Harry' until the 1960's.
Zoo visitors sometimes mistaken her for a boulder.
She was a strict vegetarian.
She was not the longest living animal: A tortoise called Tu'i Malila lived to be 188.
The story that Charles Darwin brought her back to England on the HMS Beagle may be an urban myth.

Why he might not be annoying:

She lived through more history than you ever will.
She proved that a healthy diet and peaceful surroundings can add decades to your lifespan.
She was a popular attraction at the Brisbane Zoo for 100 years.
Her back was scarred from years of zoo visitors carving their initials on her shell.
She attracted perhaps even more visitors to the Australia Zoo than Steve Irwin's famous crocodiles.
