Why he might be annoying:

    He is widely viewed as a rubber stamp for the Law and Justice Party.
    He signed a law making it illegal to mention Polish complicity in the Holocaust and other Nazi German atrocities.
    He campaigned for a constitutional amendment to ban adoption by same-sex couples, calling it ‘enslavement of a child.’
    He called the gay rights movement ‘even more dangerous to man than Communist ideology.’
    He called the main opposition party, the Civic Forum, ‘worse than coronavirus.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    During his first term, he traveled to every one of Poland’s 380 electoral districts, and in many districts was the first senior official to visit since the fall of Communism.
    He was praised by Donald Trump as one of the few NATO leaders meeting their financial obligations to the organization.
    After his reelection, he said, ‘It was a very brutal campaign, sometimes probably too brutal. If someone felt offended by my words, please forgive me.’
