    Recorded ‘All My Love' (1950), ‘On Top of Old Smoky' (1951), ‘Delcidado' (1952), ‘The Song from Moulin Rouge (Where Is Your Heart)' (1953) and ‘Theme from a Summer Place' (1960)
    He moved to the US after getting upset with the Canadian Broadcasting Company for cutting the budget of his radio show.
    He specialized in lushly over-orchestrated easy-listening music.
    The year of his death, he recorded a disco re-arrangement of ‘Theme from A Summer Place.'
    His career as a pianist ended when his sister's clothing caught fire and he burned his hands smothering the flames.
    He recorded the top-selling singles of 1953 and 1960.
    ‘Theme from A Summer Place' was the first instrumental to win the Grammy for Record of the Year.
