Why she might be annoying:

She went from the stage name Jennie Lewis to a pretentious single name.
She was thrice married.
Her role on 'Broadway Open House' called for her to 'wear a low-cut gown, sit on a stool and act dumb.'
To say her variety show was 'short-lived' would be a gross understatement.
Her 'ditzy blonde' persona didn't carry over into the 1960's and she fell off the TV radar.

Though Life magazine called her a 'national institution,' she never forgot her West Virginia roots and was honored as 'Huntington's first citizen.'
