    Catcher for the Oakland Athletics (1998-2000), Kansas City Royals (2001-02), Detroit Tigers (2003) and Philadelphia Phillies (2004)
    Manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2009-10) and the Houston Astros
    He primarily served as a backup catcher.
    He goes by his initials, rather then his full name.
    He was a member of the Tigers team that nearly broke the modern day futility record (2003).
    He was fired by the Diamondbacks midway through his second season with the club.
    He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1992 and the Minnesota Twins in 1995, declining to sign with them and opting to sign with Oakland upon being drafted by the team the following year.
    He was considered a valuable mentor to younger players in the final seasons of his career.
    He prepared for life after baseball by attending the Winter Meetings as a way to establish contacts.
    He guided the Astros to their first playoff berth as an American League franchise (2015).
    He led the Astros to their second World Series berth and first as an American League franchise (2017).
