Why she might be annoying:

She is an Asian with a high-fashion French first name and an ‘All-American’ last name.
    She resembles Kristin Kreuk.
For years, until the publication of her book, she was the Emily Doe in the Brock Turner rape case.

Why she might not be annoying:

Blacked out during her rape, she did not know what actually happened to her until she heard the details online.
Two Swedish students, riding by a campus dumpster on bikes, saw what Turner was doing, chased Brock down and pinned him down until help arrived.
The students would later become key witnesses at his trial.
Her rapist received only six months in jail, serving only three months.
Turner's father Dan defended his son stating that ‘20 minutes of action’ should not ruin Brock's life.
She was targeted by trolls for getting drunk the night of her rape.
Case followers were openly disgusted by the trolls and the dad.
In four days, her victim impact statement, published on Buzzfeed, was viewed by 11 million people.
She later wrote a Buzzfeed post on her reaction to her impact statement going viral.
Family, friends and her boyfriend all testified at the trial describing the impact her sexual assault had on them.
Aaron Persky, the judge in the case, got recalled in 2018 after national outrage over the sentence.
Oprah, an avid reader and fellow rape survivor, read her book and was moved and compelled by her writing.
She eventually met the students (Carl-Fredrik Arndt and Peter Jonsson) who stopped Brock mid-attack and held him down.
