Based on the radio show 'Granby's Green Acres (1950)'
    Spin-off of Petticoat Junction
    Buttram!
It was full of country bumpkins.
Entire episodes revolved around the antics of animals (particularly Arnold Ziffel).
Oliver provides only one argument for his wife to be there, dramatized with a sharp tug: 'You are my wife.'
It was essentially the 'Beverly Hillbillies' in reverse.
The cast did not eat Arnold Ziffel after the show wrapped. In fact Arnold was often portrayed by about 2-4 girl pigs a year.
Its final two episodes attempted (and failed) to start two spin-offs.
It has a memorable and catchy theme.
Characters from 'Petticoat Junction' and 'Beverly Hillbillies' would frequently make guest appearances.
It was cancelled with nearly every other rural CBS program when CBS made a conscious effort to start targeting urban youth (1971).
Donald Trump and Megan Mullally sang its theme song at the 2005 Emmy Awards.
It gained enormous popularity in syndication on 'Nick at Night' in the early 1990s.
Matt Groening considers it to be an early influence on 'The Simpsons' (1989).
